THE GEORGIAN HOTEL RECEIVES HIGHEST MARKS
IN 2002 AMERICAN FILM MARKET SURVEY
Shutters, Miramar and
LeMerigot Round Out The Top Four
LOS ANGELES (July 10, 2002) The
Georgian Hotel scored highest in a customer-satisfaction survey of
attendees at the 2002 American Film Market. The results were
announced today by Jonathan Wolf, Managing Director of the AFM and
Executive Vice President of AFMA, which produces the annual event.
"We're delighted to recognize the Santa Monica hotel industry in
general, and to specifically honor The Georgian Hotel for its outstanding
services to the attendees at this year's American Film Market," said
Wolf.
The AFM is Santa Monica's largest event, spread across 10 consecutive
days and attracting 7,000 film executives from throughout the U.S.
and over 70 countries. The AFM has been held in Santa Monica
since 1991. This year the event, Feb. 20-27, generated over
8,000 room nights in 15 selected Santa Monica hotels.
The survey was sent to every AFM attendee from outside Southern California
and yielded an impressive 28% response rate. The questionnaire
asked about a wide range of topics concerning the guest's hotel experience
from check-in to staff helpfulness to overall value. During
the summer, the AFM will present each hotel with the detailed responses
for their property.
When asked to rate their ³Overall Stay,² The Georgian Hotel
scored highest with 92% of its guests rating it "Excellent" or "Very
Good.² The other three top-rated hotels were Shutters
On The Beach, The Fairmont Miramar Hotel Santa Monica and Le Merigot,
a JW Marriott Beach Hotel & Spa. Note: The Loews
Santa Monica Beach Hotel, which annually serves as the location of
the AFM, was excluded from the survey, as all guest rooms become
exhibit spaces during the event and no one sleeps in the hotel.
The General Manager of The Georgian Hotel, attributed
his hotel's first-place rating to his staff, who represent 18 different
nationalities. "My associates are my success story. They
are a wonderfully cohesive group who are passionate in their desire
to serve our guests," he said.

2002 in Santa Monica. Following the event, a survey questionnaire
(copy attached) was distributed to every attendee who came from outside
Southern California. The survey asked guests to rate only the

return. Of the 15 surveyed hotels, the following were excluded
because of insufficient responses: Best Western
Gateway, Hotel Casa Del Mar and Hotel Oceana. The Loews Santa
